Candlesticks

The candlesticks are slip cast from high quality porcelain slip - all the wastage from the throwing process is dried out then slaked down and recycled into slip - making them an excellent green commodity. They are bisque fired to 1000 degrees then glazed and fired again this time up to 1240 degrees to ensure they are waterproof and durable - they can even be put through the dishwasher.

Tall and slender with a slightly nipped in neck which will hold the candle in place. This change in direction is emphasised with natural string binding or sometimes with silver wire. Another use is as a contemporary vase to hold a single bloom or simple arrangement of flowers, bold coloured gerberas being my favourites.

Plain Candlesticks have a simple band of rich brown with string binding or can be embellished with rooster feathers for a quirky finish. Spotty Candlesticks are decorated with copper oxide spots
