With over 20 years’ experience designing and making ceramics I have a wealth of knowledge that I’m always happy to share with fellow potters and enthusiasts.
A typical Master class day would begin with a slide presentation outlining my work from it's inspiration - for example walking out in the mountains, progressing to the sketching and testing phases through to the final stages of producing a finished piece.
I discuss the inspiration for my work and techniques I've developed and personalised over the years. One of my particular favourite subjects is the creative process – how to develop the methods and thinking that transform inspiration into a piece of artwork.
The morning session rounds off with Q&A.
After lunch I demonstrate making a wall piece or an aspect of decoration, passing on tips and suggestions. Often I bring along a selection of ceramics for sale.
It's an educational and inspirational day - and always lively.
For local community groups, I offer a short 2 hour talk and demo session suitable for an evening.
